Frank Spotnitz reveals he feels 'bittersweet' about new X Files

The 54-year-old producer has said that he would "loved" to have worked on revival, but was unable to because he was filming his latest project The Man in the High Castle at the time. He also revealed he was completely in the dark about what to expect from the six-episode revival, which is due to air next year.

Speaking exclusively to the Express.co.uk, Frank said: "I had dinner with [creator] Chris Carter when I was in Vancouver in July because they were shooting at the exact same time we were shooting High Castle. I deliberately did not want to know. I just wanted to enjoy it as a fan.

"It's very bittersweet for me that I wasn't able to work on it but I'd love the pleasure of just watching it.

"Oh, I would have loved to if I could have, there's just no way. Unfortunately, maybe next time," the US television producer added.
