The X Files Season 10 - Outtakes & Bloopers

You might think making a flying saucer would be a breeze, but it took a lot of craftspeople many hours of work to replicate even just the amount of the craft that sticks out of the ground after its crash. And since it had to stick out of the ground, it had to be strong enough, through the use of a metal skeleton, to stand up on its own and not buckle and break under its weight.

There also was the added issue of marrying the physical prop with the digital effect of the UFO crashing to the ground. You might not think dirt exploding in the proper pattern makes all that much difference, but this is a show about truth, you guys. It makes ALL the difference.

Fox brought on a dedicated green production consultant to work with each department, including set construction, transportation, wardrobe, props, catering, hair & make-up, and more, to find ways to make the production as efficient as possible.

Even as the series built on its own fictional history, it also built on its legacy behind the scenes, including its long-running commitment to environmental sustainability.

Building on the socially conscious themes of episodes like "Home Again," about gentrification in major cities, the team led projects to support the homeless community in Vancouver, which was standing in for Philadelphia in the episode. The production crew worked to integrate the homeless into the show, distributed food vouchers, and donated supplies to local shelters. These and other initiatives were collected into an exclusive behind-the-scenes video, which can be viewed here.

The X-Files revival kicked off with one of the longest, most complicated monologues from Mulder in the series' history. Now, in this exclusive behind-the-scenes video, Duchovny explains what went into his epic conspiracy rant in "My Struggle."

The video below shows the series’ prop department trying multiple ways to get the perfect poster rip, as well as star David Duchovny riffing on the beloved — and strangely more rugged than it looks — prop. Click to watch - TV Line

Of course, this list wouldn't be complete without good old bloopers. So, the best is left for the end. Enjoy in nine minutes of good fun. :D
