Creator of the X-Files Chris Carter revealed that Joel McHale who played conspiracy theorist television host, Tad O’Malley may return to the series. In Carter’s words, “If he shows up, it would be in episode 10 (the season finale) but I’m not sure yet.”
The character of O’Malley almost acted like a Greek chorus of sorts. Espousing such theories as the government covering up use of alien technology as well as wiretapping and other assorted topics that conspiracy junkies have believed for years. He makes Mulder look skeptical.
McHale has always been a huge fan of the show. According to the International Business Times, Joel was so enthusiastic about picking up his role again that he stated, “If they do more episodes, I’d be there in a New York minute if they want me.”
