American Synth Rock Band Released X-Files Inspired Album

The Colours of Kings, Louisville, KY new wave / synth rock band, released their sophomore album, “The Truth is in Me,” on October 13th. The album is inspired by, and makes reference to, many of the X-Files episodes and characters, as a means of exploring a personal journey for “truth of life, truth of joy, and truth of self.”
Through nine tracks, The Colours of Kings search for and question a personal truth, much like Fox Mulder in the X-Files series. Each track makes reference to an X-Files character or episode (or episodes, as in the case of “Monster of the Week”) and offers a personal insight to the emotional connection between life and art.
X-Files fans will be delighted by the many references to the show, and may also note that the release date is set on X-Files creator Chris Carter’s birthday. But the album will still appeal to broader audiences through catchy, upbeat music and personalized, yet universal lyrics.

The full album is available for streaming on Spotify.
With a punk attitude, new-wave synth rock sounds and indie rock lyrics, The Colours of Kings are music’s new Tom Sawyer. Their first release, “The Up EP,” was called “authentic,” and “a strong introduction.”
