Frank Spotnitz might be back on board for the new season of The X-Files

After the great success, Frank Spotnitz left The Man in the High Castle as a showrunner. The reason for his decision was, according to his own words, "a true case of creative differences". "There were things I wanted to do that they didn’t want to do, which I respect. But I think it will still be a great show."

Also, the producer of The X-Files said he might be back on board for the new season.

On new run of The X-Files

"I was thrilled. I never stopped being in contact with the X-Files fans online. I was supporting them and trying to get this going, and they were raising money and had all these events for years trying to bring the X-Files back. I was so happy that it finally happened. I was just disappointed that I couldn’t do it because I was doing The Man in the High Castle. But now it looks like they will do it again."

On returning to the show

"You never know. I am emotionally attached to it, so …"

On cliff-hanger of the episode My Struggle 2? 

"Ah, I don’t know what he was thinking. I want to see it resolved. I didn’t know. I was watching and was as surprised as you."

Franks next project is called Medici: Masters of Florence, which tells a story about the rise and success of  The Medici family, during the Italian renaissance of 14th and 15th century. "This is my first historical drama and I realized I like it for the same reason I like science fiction. Because when you do history, you must interpret it," Spotnitz explained.
