IndieWire published a list with 13 actors who almost became Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel had to choose between Edward Norton and David Duchovny when deciding who would play Bruce Banner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Marvel vice chairman Peter Cuneo, Norton and “The X-Files” actor were neck and neck in the battle to land the part. Marvel ended up going with the former, only to replace him with Mark Ruffalo in “The Avengers.”
