Entertainment Weekly reports that Imprint/Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group will release a pair of young-adult novels starring a 15-year-old Dana Scully and 17-year-old Fox Mulder.

Called “The X-Files Origins,” the series is set in spring 1979, “when serial murder, the occult, and government conspiracy were highlighted in the news.” Each book follows teenagers Mulder and Scully and they experience life-changing events that place them on the path to becoming the FBI agents “X-Files” fans know and love.

Mulder’s story, “The X-Files Origins: Agent of Chaos,” will be written by Kami Garcia (“Beautiful Creatures”), while Scully’s story “Devil’s Advocate,” will be penned by Jonathan Maberry (“Rot & Ruin,” “Marvel Universe vs. Wolverine”). Both books will be published in January 2017.
